The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia SNNPR Lowlands Livelihood Resilience Project (LLRP) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Lowlands Livelihood Resilience Project (LLRP). Bidding will he conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loons and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers date Dec 20,2016 November 1,2017 and August 1,2018 (“Procurement Guidelines”). and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines.

Personnel requirements

The Drilling Contractor shall provide capable and experienced personnel to perform the work. The Drilling Contractor’s project manager shall be an Engineering Geologist or drilling engineer with at least 10 years of drilling experience who shall be responsible for site operations. At each drill site, the Drilling Contractor shall also provide an Engineering Geologist or drilling engineer with at least 4 years of experience and other suitable to perform the work. Changes in personnel during the execution of the contract shall be done subject to the approval of the Supervisor or Designated Representative. The Drilling Contractor shall be fully operational, with the drilling unit and installation crew working within two weeks of commencing core drilling construction.

  • The Contractor shall submit with his Geotechnical Plan, an organizational chart showing the structure of the working team and the number of personnel who will be employed for the works,
  • The Contractor shall submit qualifications of its personnel to the client SDCSE at the time of submissions Technical Proposal.

Material requirement

  • The equipment shall include heavy duty drilling rigs provided with hydraulic feed mechanisms to facilitate obtaining undisturbed soil samples in overburden and cores in the rock.
  • Drill rods should have a minimum outer diameter of 76mm supplied by the specialized manufacturer.
  • Rods and joints have to be in perfect condition to avoid failures and deviation of boreholes..
  • The toe to the lining shall no time be more than 1.0 m above the level to which soil has been removed from the borehole.
  • Before taking any undisturbed samples or making any in-situ tests, the lining shall be carried down to the bottom of the bore holes at the test depth.

  • No additional allowance or payment will be made for penetration of boulders, cementing, and use of bentonite circulation and reaming of the hole.
  • Cementing and bentonite circulation may only be applied after approval of the Client.
  • The Contractor shall provide all necessary water, water tanks and suitable means of pressurizing for cleaning casing prior to sampling, coring rock etc.
  • The Contractor shall provide such platforms as may be necessary to maintain drill rigs level when making horizontal or vertical borings on sloped land, soft ground and similar.
  • The Contractor shall provide pontoons and such platforms as may be necessary to maintain drill rigs level when making vertical borings in the middle of a river.
  • Coring of rock and undisturbed sampling shall be done with rigs mounted on a fixed platform to avoid any crucial disturbance

3. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of works under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers January 2011 edition, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. In addition, please refer to paragraphs 1.6 and 1.7 settings for the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

4. The bidder should have a suitable type of rig i.e. for drilling of soft and hard formation.

5. Bidders can participate in two contract and award two contracts with two different drilling rig machine, equipment and manpower crews i.e. separate Equipment and manpower for each lot.

6. Bids shall be valid for a period of One hundred twenty (120) days and Bid security period is One hundred Fifty (150) days after Bid opening. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security of not less than Ethiopian Birr 140,000.00 /ETB One hundred forty Thousand/ of each contract specified in No.2 above. The bid shall be delivered to The Ministry of Water, Irrigation, and Energy Meeting Hall on January 21, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. 7. Qualification requirements for each contract include: (i) ownership (or existing lease) of a suitable, new or good status drilling rig machine, (ii) Drilling and construction of at least 24 Shallow Wells construction contracts of similar size in the last three years, (iii) Minimum average annual construction turnover of ETB = 8,000,000.00 calculated as total certified payments received for contracts in progress and/or completed within the last three years, iv) liquidated asset of at least 2,000,000.00. A. Background:

Zemen Bank S.C. is pursuing a growth plan in line with an 11 years strategic road map. To support its aggressive growth strategy, especially with the development of the required facilities in support of the fast Ethiopian Bank’s growth and also to back the National water resource self reliance plan of corporations, Zemen Bank would like to drill its own water well for its new skyscraper building.

In line with this water well drilling program, on the premises of the Zemen Bank head quarter building located in Addis Ababa, further expansion in the bank sector is planned to be implemented in the coming few years. For the implementation of the water well drilling project Zemen Bank S.C. would like to hire a contractor in different terms.

This EOI is therefore meant for the selection of a national drilling firm that can perform both the investigation and drilling activities.

The purpose of this call is to identify potential firms who can do the Hydrogeological Investigation and mechanical drilling of boreholes for ZEMEN Bank Head Office Building, which is located in Addis Ababa around Mexico area.

4. An interested bidder can purchase a complete set of bidding documents in English from the day that the advertisement appears in the Ethiopian Herald newspaper at (1). Room No. 11 Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Addis Ababa or (2) Room No. B-06 in Benishangul Gumuz Region Water, Irrigation and Energy Resources Development Bureau, Assosa during normal working hours upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 200.00 (Two Hundred Birr Only). The method of payment will be in cash.

5. The eligible bidders are expected to go through the bidding document and submit One original and Three copies of their each technical and financial proposals, as well as bid security in separate wax-sealed envelopes addressed to Water, irrigation and energy Minister, Addis Ababa Room No B-11 on or before 3:00 PM on or before 15 calendar days from the last advertisement date notice on the Ethiopian Herald and bids, shall be opened at 3:30 PM at the Water, Irrigation and Energy Minister compound, Addis Ababa, only technical part of the proposal open at Addis Ababa but after technical document evaluation the financial document open at Benishangul Gumuz region water, Irrigation, energy resource development Bureau.

6. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the opening tender procedures contained in the Public Procurement Proclamation of the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and is open to all eligible bidders. Bids shall be valid for a period of Ninety (90) days and Bid Security shall be valid for 120 Days after Bid opening. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security, in an acceptable (CPO or bank guarantee) form amounting to 100,000 Birr (One Hundred Thousand Birr only) and they shall be delivered to “The Benishangul Gumuz Regional State Water, Irrigation and Energy Resources Development  Bureau through Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy (Room No. B-11) (Addis Ababa) “on 3:00 PM on or before 15 calendar days from the last advertisement date of this notice on the Ethiopian herald and the technical Bids shall be opened at 3:30 PM at the same date & address in the presence of the bidders who wish to attend. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. If the 15th Calendar day is a holiday, it will be on the next working day.

7. The award will be decided on a lot basis.

8. Bidders should provide qualification requirements which include: (i) ownership (or existing lease) of a suitable drilling rig, (ii) completion of drilling and construction of at least one contracts of similar work in each of the last three years, (iii) annual turnover of 1.5 times the bid value in each of the last two years, (iv) liquid assets of at least 1/3 the contract value and (v) experienced drilling crew team and machinery. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.

9. The Benishangul Gumuz Regional State Water Irrigation and Energy Resources Development Bureau reserve the right to reject all or part of the bid.

Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) Invitation of Urgent Bid for Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Springs and Hand dua wells

  1. Fayyaa Integrated Development Organization (FIDO) has launched a new humanitarian intervention “Emergency WASH response among IDPs in Leta Sibu, Nedjo and Kiltu Kara woredas, West Wollega zone, Oromia region, Ethiopia” through RRM (Rapid Response Mechanism). For this BID, FIDO will invite a contractor to carry out maintenance and rehabilitation on springs and hand-dug wells in West Wollega Zone. Bidding is open to all eligible bidders having a construction license of WWC-6 and above renewed for 2012 EC and those currently registered with the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity and/or Regional Water, Mineral and Energy Bureau and who have got VAT registration certificate and Tax clearance valid during Bid period from Regional Revenue Bureau or Federal Tax Authority.
  2. Copy of VAT certificate, trade license, and PPA Certificate and Tax clearance certificate must be submitted attached with the application.
  3. Any contractor who has a termination history with West Wollego Zone Finance and Economic Corporation Office or West Wollega Zone Water and Energy Office, FIDO, and other regional sectors and with bad performance (proved) in their past contractual period may be rejected during technical evaluation.
  6. The contractor must submit performance of previous work experience which is not less than 70% of a similar nature.
  7. Any attempt of submission of forged (False) document and/ or indication of financial offers on the qualification document shall result in rejection of the bid.
  8. The bid must be clearly marked by “bidders name, address, legal stamp, and reference number.
  9. The bidder has to deliver in a wax seal envelope in two separate envelopes, one for financial documents, CPO at least for three months from the date of bid opening and necessary documents, and the other one for technical documents. The technical and financial documents should have one original and one copy for each, clearly marked “ORIGINAL” and “COPY”. Each envelope shall be stamped and sealed. In the event of any discrepancy between them, the original will prevail. And all documents are sealed within One Mother Envelope.
  10.  Partial bidding is not allowed.

Summary of the proposal:

Meta Abo Brewery Share Company is interested to engage potential suppliers that can supply/provide the below service/goods respectively in Ethiopia. Eligibility criteria

In order to be considered for further Appraisal

Vendors must:

  1. Have adequate financial resource to perform the proposed contract
  2. Comply with the required or proposed delivery or performance schedule;
  3. Have a satisfactory past and current performance record
  4. Have the necessary organization, experience, and accounting/operational controls and technical skills
  5. Have the necessary production, construction and technical equipment and facilities
  6. Qualify to receive an award under applicable Diageo regulations, code of business conduct (COBC) and other Diageo’s Polices.
  7. Be able to work as to Diageo Payment term policy (60 days)
  8. Have two client references available for contact during this process.
  9. Declare any form of conflict of interest at the time of document submission if any.

Only short-listed entity shall be considered for the bid solicitation.
